Festive Silk Painting Workshop
Discover the beautiful art of silk painting in this festive two-hour workshop with local artist Laura Hollis.
Laura will begin with an introduction and demonstration before guiding you through the techniques used in silk painting. You'll create two beautiful pieces to take home: a hand-painted silk card and a colourful silk suncatcher.
Using traditional silk painting techniques, you'll first create your own design using Gutta, an outliner which helps control the flow of colour. You'll then bring your design to life using vibrant paints, followed by painting a ready-printed festive card design and your silk suncatcher.
The paints naturally blend and flow across the silk, making the process both creative and wonderfully mindful. No previous experience is needed, with designs available to trace or the option to create something completely your own.
Your evening includes:
- Tuition from an experienced instructor
- A silk suncatcher made using a 5-inch embroidery hoop
- A ready-printed silk card design to paint and mount
- All materials and equipment
- A glass of Prosecco or Nosecco on arrival
- A festive mince pie
The workshop will take place in our restaurant marquee, creating a cosy setting for a festive evening of creativity. Please head to Novells Restaurant upon arrival, where a member of staff will check your name.
