You’ll be guided by local craftswoman Nicola Claxton, who has been teaching willow crafts across Kent for many years, from wreaths and baskets to creative community projects. You’ll learn traditional willow weaving techniques step by step. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already crafty, this workshop will be enjoyed by those of all willow weaving abilities!

Things to know:

· Aprons are not provided, so please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.

With her step-by-step guidance, you’ll learn simple techniques to create 2-3 beautifully hand-painted watercolour postcards, which can either be sent out as postcards or mounted onto cards – perfect for gifting to loved ones this Christmas.

Suzanne is a professional watercolour artist whose work captures the vibrancy and emotion of the natural world. With over seven years of experience tutoring and inspiring others, she is passionate about helping others experience the joy of watercolours. Suzanne will guide you through this session, making it accessible and fun for complete beginners and seasoned creatives alike.

Get festive and creative this Christmas with our Candle Painting Workshop at Polhill Garden Centre in Kent. This festive workshop will be led by Tired Starling Studio - an independent, eco-conscious brand selling sustainable creations. Tired Starling Studio is run by London-based artist and maker Katie Wells, who creates embroidery kits, hand-painted candles and stationery made to nurture creativity and relaxation. Her workshops are welcoming, beginner-friendly spaces where participants can explore craft, self-expression and mindfulness.

In this workshop, you’ll design and paint a beautiful pair of taper candles to take home, ideal for your Christmas table or as a thoughtful handmade gift.
